It fails to auto-detect both my Alltel V3C and Verizon E815 no matter what
the ID string seem says.. BitPim returns "No phone detected/recognised. Run
settings?"...

I started with the Alltel V3C's default V3Cm, changed to V3CM, and even
V3C... For the E815, I used E815, E815m and E815M... (I did not flash the
V3C back to the Verizon firmware to test).

My Verizon V710 with ID string seem set as V710M, it detects as "V710m on
COM6". with the ID string seem set as V710m, it fails to auto-detect.
With the ID string seem set as V710, it finds it as "V710 on COM6"

Mark.
