Some Windows users are reporting write timeout using the VX-8700 and VX-8550. It appears that some hardware/os combinations do not work with a packet size of 0x1f00. Attached is a patch that backs the packet size off to 0x1a00 bytes which appears to fix the problem without sacrificing upload speed by much.
