I doubt that it is standard, but for many phones, sending a packet
with 0x44 followed by the usual CRC and packet terminator will do
that. You can do this from the filesystem view of BitPim by right
clicking in the directory listing and selecting "go to modem mode".
After some operations with some phones, such as updating phonebooks,
the phone needs to be rebooted in order to function properly.
Hello all.
AT$QCDMG to enter diagnostics mode - how do you restore the phone to
it's
previous mode (e.g. modem mode, mass storage mode)?
And does this vary for each phone or is it a Qualcomm command to say
'exit
diagnostics mode'?
Thanks,
Paul.

Sorry! It was supposed to be there.
Let me know if this does not make it. I will use a different mail
service

I didn't get the attachment. Can you resend it?

I have created 3 notes using the phone keypad
"This is just a test memo"
"Memo two is here"
"1234567890 Testing memo three"
see attached memo.dat file
I also tried to upload this memo into a clean notepad. "This is
just a test memo" What I read was "is just a test memo". The
first word was missing but there was no error when loading.
For your info the firmware version of my VX8550 is VX855V01, if
that helps any.

Sorry, I should have said... I will need a copy of
/sch/memo.dat
off the phone to decode the file format (you can download
this file
using the filesystem browsing feature of Bitpim). You will
probably
want to delete any sensitive information before you download
the
file.

I'm not too sure what you mean by the file containging the
memos. There
is no file on the computer with memos because the error
happens before
the files are downloaded.
I am also not real sure what "Memos" are. I was assuming
that they were
the "Notes" from the Notepad Tool but the phone seem to
think that
"Memos" are notes that are attached to individual Contacts
and that seems
to work ok when up or downloading the contact list. The
notes in
my notepad were entered by hand on the phone so no file was
ever uploaded.
I would be happy to be of help track this down. I was very
happy to find
this program just to get my "Close Encounters Theme"
uploaded as a
ringtone without having to spend $50.00 for Verizon's or
some third
party's special program.
Thanks
Rich
