Was wondering if anyone was already working on support for it and where
to point me to get started.
AFAIK, no one is working on the Rogue. To start, I'd suggest taking a look
at the similar (Samsung) models already implemented in BitPim.

I want to get answers to a few dummy questions, since I am new to
python & bitpim.
Feel free to post your questions to this list. To start, my suggestion is
to review the code of similar models to your phone.

simply add a blank __init__ function to BaseProtogenClass and all is
fixed :)
Thanks for the pointer. Moving to 2.6 is next on my list.

It looks like some change in 10.6.2 finally broke something in libusb 0.1.
Since libusb 0.1 is no longer maintained (and there are many unfixed bugs--
that I finally fixed in the 1.0 backend) I suggest we change native/usb to
use libusb-1. Both linux and darwin are fully supported by libusb-1 and
significant progress has been made on a Windows port. Is anyone opposed to
this change? If not I would like to make the changes before the release of
1.0.7.

Before I begin, Happy New Year to everyone!
As the subject states, this post is in regards to Bitpim having issues
reading SMS messages received after the new year.

When SMS messages from 2010 are clicked on, Bitpim throws the following
exception.
I will be monitoring the forums for a fix and report back.? Thanks to all
the developers and contributors for your time and effort to keep this
project going!

Is anyone opposed to this change? If not I would like to
make the changes before the release of 1.0.7.
That sounds reasonable. In the long term, you might want to consider
migrating to PyUSB <http://pyusb.berlios.de/>, but its stable branch
only supports libusb 0.1, so that's not really an option just yet.
