Subject: Phones

Greetings:
Since the phone coding is probably the most intensive - I have a
suggestion
Create a Rapid Development GUI for the Phone Control - this would make it
easier for all programmers to code the phones, and leave the really heavy
duty phone detail work for those who are most experienced, or with more
time.

Perhaps a standard interface could be developed for the phones - and that
interface would have the standard features and pluggable features.
The "phone coding" on the head end would be identical - only the low level
phone driver would need to be created (using the tool as suggested in the
above.)

I think from what I see in the code (not a python coder) that there is a
semblance of this, but there is no Rapid Phone Driver GUI...- which could
generate alot of the code for the developer based on say a template.. in
this manner more phones could be supported because non python programmers
could easily add and then figure out what they need to do to make the code
work right if it does not the first time around...

A novel idea, but we're nowhere close to that.

which could generate alot of the code for the developer based on say a template..
We have this for most phones to handle specific data protocol between the phone and the PC, which makes it easier to add support to new phone models of existing phone family.
