I never got around to doing the export and it will lose information eg
ordering of numbers and addresses).

Do you think the info can be preserved by the order of the columns (phone1, phone2, addr1, addr2, etc.)?

That will only work if that is the format chosen for export
and even then you have issues of formatting the numbers
(eg including the type). The CSV export should only be used
for when then intention is to dump into another program that
can't do vCard properly.
