Has anyone managed to download a ringtone to a VGA1000 aka A620 phone
yet? I'm curious whether a put to the filesystem can work in some
fashion. I'm afraid to just try it for fear of mucking up the phone.

Yep, I've created quite a few ringtones and the phone handled them
beautifully. Just maked sure they're properly formatted, and it's smooth
sailing.
