I'd suggest turning on that property, I'm kinda used to it from the cvs days.

Very annoyingly you can't turn it on at the server end.
You have to turn it on locally in your Subversion config
file as well as auto props. For Windows, do TortoiseSVN >
Settings > General > Edit. That same config file is also
used by the command line Subversion client.
