It actually looks like the whole statusbar should be redone.

Please take a look at the latest update and let me know what you think. Adit, please let me know if you want any changes for the Mac.

Joe,

It looks good. The Mac status bar doesn't show the tabs (\t) for some
reason. You have to put quite a few of them in to make any effect. I
just decided to put in more whitespace instead.

That's weird. I don't know how good it looks with the spaces on the Mac. I'm open for any suggestion for a way to make them look good. Thanks for the testing.
