We're getting ready to do the next build. I still have not had any
feedback wrt the testing of the new VX9900 features. I will not
enable those features w/o any testing. wrt the VX5300, I still don't
have any input to the Help pages. I don't plan to apply the patch
w/o accompanying docs.

I'm successfully using the new VX9900 stuff almost daily (calendar daily).
Don't know if you want testing from more than one person....

Joe,
I can vouch for the the 5300 patch, however I have only tested it via
bluetooth.

Take a look at the following, tell me if you need more. 5300 owners -
did I leave something out?

Best,

Sean

What works:
Phonebook, wallpaper (including camera), ringers, sounds, calendar,
call history, SMS. Phone does not support memos and has no SD card.
MP3s go in the "ringers" folder, not the MP3 folder.
Further reading available at:
http://fob.po8.org/node/254
Cables
Bluetooth connection works well.
Notes
No transfer problems have been reported on the developer's list.

Direct USB connection works OK, but not a lot faster than
Bluetooth. USB cable is available from a variety of sources
online---the expensive transfer box seems to be unnecessary,
just get a straight USB cable. Some problems when
downloading large collections of camera pictures---may need
to download them one at a time rather than as a batch.

Thanks for the report. Did you have a chance to test all the new
features, or just the calendar. Any additional notes to add to the
Help pages?

Did some more testing. I've now successfully tested the following for the VX9900:
- Phonebook
- Calendar
- Ringtone
- Memo
- SMS
- Callhistory

I also test "wallpaper". It successfully pulled the pics I've taken off the phone but none of the built-in wallpaper. I'm not sure if its supposed to .

As for notes, everything seems to work as I'd expect. I tried to figure out Playlist support, but I can't get the phone to give me access to the playlist files...

Try setting it to VX8500, get your ringtones, then go to the
filesystem view and try to retrieve the file(s).

Joe,
The test load works fine. As a reminder, the VX5300 does not have the
option of an SD card. Thus, the SD options aren't useful. Since I
haven't taken the time to look at the code, I don't know if hiding the
SD components (eg "images(sd)") is possible, but if it is, it should be
deactivated. All of my previous posted notes check out. Nice job, Joe
and Bart!

Best,

Sean

Yes, it is. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll have another test
load due tonight that includes that fix, the 8500/8600 T9 User DB, a
few other fixes. That'd be the last one before the next release.
Post if you're interested in testing it.
