[BitPim-devel] Sanyo SCP-7000

Is there anyone working on this phone?

I Just bought some of these for my kids (they include parental controls) and I wanted to use them with BitPim

I was able to get it to work with the Phonebook by copying the SCP-2400 and tweaking it a little.

The one thing that does not work is the Ringers and Wallpapers I tried code from every Sanyo phone but none of them work.

Looking at the code in Com_SanyoMedia.py it sends a changedir for the directories to try to enumerate the ringers and wallpapers but I've tried several different directories. The only one that doesn't give me an Error 121 is "2" and that only contains the games.

I'm new to bitpim and I've never coded in Python before but it doesn't look too hard.

If there is not anyone actively working on this phone I would be willing to try to finish it but I'm going to need some hints on how to debug this and figure out how to send and receive the ringers and wallpapers.

Also, the filesystem does not work either. When I try to expand the root dir I just get a Failed to list files in Dir message in the log file.

One other thing when I attempt to send the Ringers/wallpaper to the phone the phone shows a message like the following:
-----------------------
Connected to PC.
Voice calls and
Messaging are not
Available

Press [END] to
Exit.
----------------------

I'm not even sure if I'm using the right drivers for this device because the Sanyo drivers did not recognize this model. The Susteen USB drivers did though and that is what I'm using.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

Just you!

That usually how support for new Sanyo phones is added.

I can help you get the support for this phone included in a future
BitPim release. There is a good chance that reading and writing the
media is simply impossible.

Also, the filesystem does not work either. When I try to expand the
root dir I just get a Failed to list files in Dir message in the log file.
The filesystem seems not be be available for recent Sanyo phones. There
was never much interesting in the Sanyo filesystem.

Many phones need to be put into some kind of offline mode before writing
contacts or media to them. Other Sanyo phones display a message which
seems to indicate that the phone is broken, so the above is an improvement!
Post by Dan Hoeger
I’m not even sure if I’m using the right drivers for this device because
the Sanyo drivers did not recognize this model. The Susteen USB drivers
did though and that is what I’m using.
For recent phones, only the Susteen drivers are known to work.
