Also, after this release goes out I am quitting BitPim. It has been a
really long time since what I get out of it remotely matches what I put in.

Well, you're a better man than I am. I would have flipped the version up to 1.0 and posted a "ok. bitpim is pefect. no more work is needed!" letter.
Thanks for all your help Roger.

Roger, if you would care to impart the know-how for making the mac
builds, I would be interested in trying to help make the mac builds
happen...

(don't know if offering just one platform in even helpful...)

Roger,

It has been an honor and pleasure being even remotely associated with
you in this endeavor. I know you started it many years ago,
specifically with the LG VX4400. It is truly amazing how far it has
gone, and how many people have contributed to the effort. Thank you so
very much for everything you have done, and for what you have started.
I wish you all the best in all your future endeavors. Good luck!

Regards,
Michael C.

I see no release notes... can anybody tell me what (if anything) related to
the LG VX5300 has changed in this latest build?

I appreciate the effort everybody has put into the project.

Say it ain't so Roger! I guess this release would never go out
then :-) I hope you're just quitting doing the build, and not BitPim
and the lists altogether. In any case, thank you for everything.

And as far as BitPim is concerned, at least for the immediate future
releases, you Mac guys are on your own :-)

I am quitting everything - builds, lists etc. And you have been doing
most of the work for a long time anyway :-)

Roger, if you would care to impart the know-how for making the mac
builds, I would be interested in trying to help make the mac builds
happen...
Short answer for all platforms:

python buildrelease/makedist.py

Longer answer:

On Windows:

help\makehelp.sh # rebuilds the help
svn commit -m "help for build"
python scripts/makerelease.py 0.9.99

On all platforms:

# do a fresh checkout from the release branch, or
svn switch
https://bitpim.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/bitpim/releases/0.9.99
rm src/version.py # doesn't get updated correctly
svn up # get version.py back
python packaging/buildmodules.py # only needed once

python buildrelease/makedist.py

You'll probably need to edit src/package.py so that your machine is
listed as an official build host.

Before I got a Mac, someone else did all the Mac builds for me and
then
mailed them to me. Joe will need to address your helpful offer.

Joe runs the project, and has been doing the majority of the code for
quite a while. So versioning etc is his call.
