[Bitpim-devel] LG 6070 revisited

Hello. I've been looking through the archived messages, and spotted one where it was said that using LG 4600 settings for the LG 6070 would work. However, it doesn't for me. Each time I try to get data from the phone, I get an error like the one below.

Is anyone interested in having a look at this? If not, I'll jump in and try to figure it out, but the python/bitpim learning curve will be steep. :) Anyway, it strikes me that the phone sends more data than the buffer is ready for.

Thanks

Hello. I've been looking through the archived messages, and spotted one where it was said that using LG 4600 settings for the LG
6070 would work. However, it doesn't for me. Each time I try to get data from the phone, I get an error like the one below.
How to piss me off in some easy steps:

- Send the same email to me personally and to the group
http://bitpim.org/testhelp/support.htm#donotdo

- Then use an overly aggressive RBL that has wrong information
so that responses bounce

- Ignore the online help about this topic in the first place
http://bitpim.org/testhelp/faq-phonenotlisted.htm

I can understand how this chain of events could piss some people off.
Unfortunately I sent that message to you with my university account. It
tends to bounce email while this email address does not. That was simply an
error of having the wrong "From" line in Outlook Express.

I was writing in regards to a message from June 25 - #8809111 in the
archive - where you are asking for information about the 6070 phone. Seeing
you personally ask for information about this phone left me with the
impression that you were interested in working on this phone and that it
superseded the "when will my phone be supported" part of the help file.
Perhaps that was mistaken. Regardless, in my mind the two messages are
different: the message directly to you is asking if you are still
interested in looking at this phone, while the second is asking if people
have any idea what this error is and whether it is worth looking into
myself. If it is a trivial error, someone else may be able to quickly fix
it. If it is not, then I get some hands-on experience with Python.

The main point of this is that I would like to make contributions to this
effort. I suppose I could just do the things that I want to do on my own,
but it seems to make more sense to contribute to the fantastic work you guys
have done so far.
