I have my Samsung SPH-A660 all cabled up and talking to Bitpim. I'm not
sure what the differences are with the I660 that Eric is testing. Once I
get a terminal session going I will report the AT command responses.

Well, the A660 seems to want to only talk at 230400. Here's the output
from AT#PBOKR=1:

at#pbokr=1
#PBOKR:
1,1,4,20,"Voicemail",2,0,,,,,7957175,0,,,,,,,,,"","",,20,20041106T10070

Here's a fake entry I made to gather more data from the phonebook:

at#pbokr=19
#PBOKR:
19,19,3,10,"Fake",0,0,5555554663,0,5555559675,0,5555552355,0,5555557243,
0,5555553299,0,555,0,,,"***@fake.com","www.fake.com",12/25/2005,4,20050109T
2226
25

The phone numbers in order are Home, Work, Mobile, Pager, and Fax. The
'label' is 555. It's in the 4th group: VIPs. Speeddial is set to Home.

I'm fairly sure they're the same.

Mike, what's the 12/25/2005 date? B'Day reminder of some sort?

555 is actually a 6th phone number called 'No Label'.

That's a fake birthday for my 'fake' entry: Christmas of this year. I meant
to set it to 2004, but I fatfingered it.

Are you asking if it will pop up a reminder if I set it to some date in the
future?

No, I'm just doing a quick comparison between your phone & other Samsung ones: yours looks pretty close to other ones.

Joe,

is there anywhere we can look to find the current status of the development
on the Samsung phones? What works and what still needs work, etc.?

Roger can point you to the right links and documentation to properly answer your question. Just by quickly scanning through the code in the latest load:

SCH-A310 (Verizon): Phonebook read/write, calendar r/w
SCH-A650 (Verizon): All r/w
SCH-A670 (Verizon): All r/w
SPH-A620 (?): phonebook r, calendar r/w, wallpaper r

You should generally look at the user interface and what is in
the version history file. The phone model specific documentation
should then catch up with that.
