[BitPim-devel] What should I do to get the LG T5100 / G7200 GSM phone working with bitpim ?

Hello,

I'm currently trying to use this phone with Linux.

It seems that bitpim supports some LG and GSM phones, could this one be
supported too ?

This is what I know at the moment about the GSM:
* via USB, mp3 can be uploaded, and photos/videos downloaded
* USB VID 1004 PID 6005
* all other things are done via serial port (ringtones, SMS, ...)
* AT+CLAC seems to list the supported AT commands

I can try to provide more information if needed.
But I don't think my wife would like that i loan her phone;)

Regards,

Guillaume B.

Actually BitPim doesn't support any GSM phones. GSM phones use
a very different means of communication than CDMA.

A list of the commands needed to sync would be useful.

It seems the commands AT+DDL* , described here:
http://www.jabali.net/~lars/L1400/AT_Commands/ and here:
http://www.jabali.net/~lars/L1400/photo/#download ,
are available on the phone.

I tried them with the serial cable.
I would add that this seem to list the videos:
AT+DDLS=8
AT+DDLR=?
+DDLR: (0-49), 9000000, 44
AT+DDLR=0,49
+DDLR: 0,"cam_000.mp4","bQBvAHYAaQBlADAAMAAAAA==",138901
+DDLR: 1,"cam_001.mp4","bQBvAHYAaQBlADAAMQAAAA==",22384

However, i managed to list the files , but not to upload them ( maybe it
work only with the USB cable or should i try to use control flow ? )

With the USB cable, the device is seen in bitpim ("using Browse"), but
not useable.

If I set "/dev/ttyS1" as the device it fails to get in "brew" mode with
AT$Q... commands.

More details soon,

Guillaume B.

Get the photos/videos and put mp3 seems only with the USB cable...

I got some transfers done with "LG Mobile Agent".
I now have some logs from SnoopyPro and PortMon, is someone interested
in having a look at it ?

I suggest reencoding with lame before uploading the file (to put a lower
bitrate, 128 or 112 and ensure the format can be read by the gsm).
